A grid of coloured tiles appears, the screen blinks blank for an instant, and the grid returns with exactly one tile changed. The blink is the whole point — it wipes the visual trace your brain was relying on, which is why the change can be obvious afterwards and still invisible in the moment. Fifteen rounds take the grid from 2×2 up to 5×5, and you have three lives.

The blink is what makes this hard — it wipes the visual trace your brain was relying on, which is the change blindness effect. Each hit is worth 10 points plus up to 5 for speed, and a miss or a timeout costs one of three lives.
